| dc.description.abstract | During this thesis we seek to answer the following issues: Is the US the most powerful country in the world? If so, how do they project and employ that power? What drives American Foreign Policy? How did the Bush administration successfully implement a doctrine that fomented unilateralism, `preemption', and democratic regime change? In the lraqi case how does the US project its power? And lastly, why does the US fit best into Antonio Negri and Michael Hardt's concept of neo-Empire? To prove our hypothesis, and answer the questions provided aboye we divided our thesis research in three chapters. The first one deals with American power and naming the use of that power (hegemony, empire, or an actor in the neo-Empire). In the second chapter we go into the construction of American foreign policy, the factors that influence the foreign policy making process and the creation of national interests. Finally, in the third chapter we analyze the Bush Doctrine and the Iraq War with the concept of neo-Empire. | es_ES |
