Abstract
The project "Residence and temporary and permanent stay in response to the problem of abuse and lack of care experienced by adults with motor disabilities" arises from the need to make people aware of the situation experienced by this part of the population, which is one of the most dependent disabilities on their caregiver. Many adults with disabilities face poverty, violence or abandonment when their caregivers are no longer present. Currently, both the state and federal governments are not responsible for the situation, leaving uncertainity and missing figures. The non-existence spaces for the situations of these people, the little participation they have in the community and society, the scarce accessibility in both private and public spaces have affected around twenty-seven thousand people in Monterrey. The main objective is to provide a safe place designed especially for people with motor disabilities, where their health is cared and they can interact with other people with and without disabilities, in addition the proyect seeks to recognize the work of primary caregivers by providing them care support. For this purpose therapy spaces, residences and day stays were created along with other spaces that were considered necessary according to the previous analysis of physical-spatial requirements of a center for people with disabilities.
